What Are The Best Times to Get The Excellent Deals When You Shop Online?

best time to shop online

Online shopping is similar to physical shopping. You can find even more web deals than at a brick and mortar store. Why? Because there is tremendous competition online and a big community of buyers, the sellers have no choice but to use the right time and the best strategies to increase their sales and retain their customers.

It’s always good to notice the different online shopping events in your country to anticipate the best sales periods during the year. Usually, most sellers will drop their prices before and during an incoming competitive sale.

The best time to shop online depends on many factors:

The type of product or service
For example woman products, seasonal products, electronics, etc.
The Holidays
For example, Mother’s day, Christmas.
The product location
A product sale may differ depending on the states, the country.
The season

The price of some products during the Winter sales, the sales.
The special events

Some sales also come before and during some national or states/provincial events.
The culture

Traditions and habits may bring some online sales discounts in some specific dates.

Some examples of periods where you can plan your online shopping:

The “Back to school” period is a good example; you will get school supplies at a lower cost if you buy them three weeks before school begins. And one week before, the prices of all supplies will increase because more people need them.

Another example: when Christmas comes, you may sometimes find the same item but at a higher price than on Black Friday.

Each month comes with different seller discounts on some specific items. You have to   observe the sales pattern of your country to identify the best time to buy.

Here are some favorite yearly events which will let you plan a good shopping schedule

5[five] important return options offered by the sellers

Important return policies you should know

Let's suppose you buy a product, and suddenly after two months, your item becomes defective, and you don't know what to do.

The next step will be to know how to return your item. That's why I strongly suggest everyone read the return policy of your webstore, even before ordering, to avoid unexpected problems or disputes with your seller.

The return policy is usually located in the bottom of the seller’s webpage. You can type "Return policies" in the search field of the website.

In the image below, you can click the link at the bottom of the webpage to have access to the return policy of the online store.

5 most common policies offered by the sellers to cancel your order

1. No return accepted. In that situation, you have to keep your item. Furthermore, you can try to get a refund if your credit card warranty covers your item or if you have paid by PayPal. You can also try to negotiate with the seller.

2. Return with a restocking fee (10%, 15%, etc.). With this policy, you will get a refund of 85% to 90% of the total cost of your order.

3. Return with shipping charges covered by the online store (most of the time, a free shipping label is provided). The seller who offers this option will usually send you a return label inserted in your package. Don’t lose it in case you need to return your items. If you don’t find your label, you can call your seller and ask him to send you another one. Make sure you return your item in the timeline established by the store policy.

4. Return with shipping charges paid by the customer. You will receive the full amount of the item to return, but you will have to pay the shipping fees to return the items to the seller.

5. Return to exchange. You can negotiate with the seller an exchange with another item.

Which of the above options is the best one?

There is not a better option. You have to choose which one will fit your needs and cost you less. You should take the time to read the return policy of the online store you are dealing with.

How to find an agreement with your online seller?

  • Explain your problem.
  • Try to negotiate, you may ask for a replacement or buy a better item with discount.
  • No rush, the more you take the time to negotiate and communicate, the better you will find a suitable solution.
  • Always take the time to analyze the offer of the seller before confirming your choice.

Tips and Tricks for a Successful Online Shopping Negotiation

Online Shopping Negotiation

Because the Internet gives access to all existing online stores, there is big competition between the sellers who want to sell their items to the most potential online buyers, including you.

According to this reality, it's possible for you to negotiate. You can compare the prices of the sellers and choose the one who will offer the best prices and the optimum sales terms.

Never hesitate to negotiate when it’s time to buy online.

When can you negotiate?

Normally you can negotiate at any time. Always choose the best time, especially when the seller needs to sell. You can get the best agreement when:

  • You are a loyal customer and want to buy an additional item.
  • You usually buy your items in a specific online store and want to negotiate its price after comparing with other stores.
  • You are buying a seasonal item for which there are no needs for now etc.

How should you negotiate?

How to negotiate your online purchases

You can negotiate in the following ways:

  • Contact the online store agent by chat, phone, email.
  • Offer a reasonable price for the desired item.
  • If the customer representative agrees, ask to get a discount code or link to follow.
  • If they don’t want to give you a code or link, you can also ask for the lowest price or fix your price.
  • When you plan to buy multiple items online, always negotiate.
  • Always open an account on your store's website before you negotiate.
Just remember that negotiation is an art; you can learn it by reading how others do it and also by practicing.
