5[five] important return options offered by the sellers

Important return policies you should know

Let's suppose you buy a product, and suddenly after two months, your item becomes defective, and you don't know what to do.

The next step will be to know how to return your item. That's why I strongly suggest everyone read the return policy of your webstore, even before ordering, to avoid unexpected problems or disputes with your seller.

The return policy is usually located in the bottom of the seller’s webpage. You can type "Return policies" in the search field of the website.

In the image below, you can click the link at the bottom of the webpage to have access to the return policy of the online store.

5 most common policies offered by the sellers to cancel your order

1. No return accepted. In that situation, you have to keep your item. Furthermore, you can try to get a refund if your credit card warranty covers your item or if you have paid by PayPal. You can also try to negotiate with the seller.

2. Return with a restocking fee (10%, 15%, etc.). With this policy, you will get a refund of 85% to 90% of the total cost of your order.

3. Return with shipping charges covered by the online store (most of the time, a free shipping label is provided). The seller who offers this option will usually send you a return label inserted in your package. Don’t lose it in case you need to return your items. If you don’t find your label, you can call your seller and ask him to send you another one. Make sure you return your item in the timeline established by the store policy.

4. Return with shipping charges paid by the customer. You will receive the full amount of the item to return, but you will have to pay the shipping fees to return the items to the seller.

5. Return to exchange. You can negotiate with the seller an exchange with another item.

Which of the above options is the best one?

There is not a better option. You have to choose which one will fit your needs and cost you less. You should take the time to read the return policy of the online store you are dealing with.

How to find an agreement with your online seller?

  • Explain your problem.
  • Try to negotiate, you may ask for a replacement or buy a better item with discount.
  • No rush, the more you take the time to negotiate and communicate, the better you will find a suitable solution.
  • Always take the time to analyze the offer of the seller before confirming your choice.

Thank you for your reading time!
