Keywords
Keywords are used in search engines (such as Google, Bing, Yahoo) to find online references faster. If you want to do a successful search, be sure to use the relevant keyword to compare your results. Most of the time, people don’t get the right search result because they don’t use the exact keywords; if you can’t find the required information, you can also try the synonym of a keyword.
Keyword Combination
When you use search engines (like Google, Bing, Yahoo...), you can combine keywords to get more accurate results. Always associate or include words that most reflect the information you need. The verbs used are also very important. If you’re not satisfied, try combining other synonyms for better results.
For example, if you want to find two words like “digital” and “concern” on your search engine site, type “digital concern”. This way, you are sure to get the web pages containing these words.
Proven Tips to Search Online Faster
(by using punctuation marks)
Please note that some search engines may not support all of these features.
Simple search
With this option, you just have to type the required word or group of words in your search engine website.
Example: In your search engine web page (like google.com, yahoo.com, or bing.com, etc.) you type “digiconcern” in the search area and then you start your search. You will get the results based on the type of search engines.
Search by using the quotation mark “ ”
Example: “Online University”
Here you get a list of all the websites containing precisely the words between the marks “ ”
Search by using the minus sign (-) (or dash sign)
The less sign excludes the characters that come after.
Example: online study - 2040
The minus sign (-) before 2040 excludes all results that contain the 2040 character chain.
Search by using the asterisk sign (*)
Example: digiconcern *
The asterisk sign includes in the results all websites that contain the word digiconcern.
Sometimes, the star symbol can be used for other purposes, depending on the position in the string (group of characters) to be searched.
Useful tips:
If you type digiconcern* (by placing the star at the end) your search will show all the words or character strings that contain the word digiconcern at the beginning.
If you type *digiconcern (by placing the star before) your search will display all the words or character strings that contain the word digiconcern in the middle or at the end.
IMPORTANT NOTE
[Ctrl + F] is a shortcut to find characters inside a text, a web page, software, etc.
No matter what tool you use (software or web browser), you can use this function. Type the Ctrl and F keyboard keys simultaneously.
